At Arts-nEd, we are all about building relationships! That could mean:
- parent : teacher
- parent : learner
- teacher : learner
just to name a few! When talking about relationships we know that clear communication is key!
.
As a homeschool parent, you want to make sure you clearly communicate with both your learner and their teacher, if they have one. That way you know what your learners expectations are so that you can assist them as best you can. It is also helpful to know what your expectations are so that you can be the best support system possible!!
.
It is also imperative that your child learn how to advocate for themselves. As they get older, they will amass more responsibility and should learn how to be proactive in helping themselves succeed. This means knowing when and where to find assignments, submit their work and how to ask questions.

After a year of being inside, it’s nice to finally be out and about! And what better place to spend some time than in nature!

At Arts-n-Ed, we always encourage learners and their family’s to take learning “outside the classroom” and make it real! One of the best ways to do that is by exploring our wonderful world. Whether your learner participated in this outdoors summer class, be sure to go on a few family adventures. There’s so much to see and learn - you won’t want to miss out!

In our class, we will spend one day a week learning about all things nature Then, we will meet up later in the week for a family style hike! It’s a great way to keep your learner growing and active!

At Arts-n-Ed, we understand that teaching from home can be a challenge. But it’s a challenge we want to help you take on!
.
Creating a positive work environment for your learner speaks volumes. Not only does it show them the need for a dedicated workspace but that you respect their need for one. Together with your learner, set up a comfortable, well-lit area that is designated for school-work. This is where they can keep all the materials they need so they know where to find them. This will help them take on more responsibility for their own education.
.
If possible, avoid having your learner work from the couch or their bed. When it’s time to relax, the brain may have a difficult time shutting off work thoughts.
.
Remember, this is not just a great tip for your learners# but if you work from home and don’t have a designated space, you should create one! Maybe your learner can help you!
