The scientific method is a cornerstone to scientific discovery. Without this method hundreds of years of scientific breakthroughs are lost. We will as a class create an experiment using this method focusing on understanding each step along the way. Following our class experiment, students will go on to make their own breakthrough by applying the scientific method to an experiment of their choice. They will then present their findings to the class.

It is often said that the best way to understand something is to teach it to others. Open to learners of a wide age / grade range, they will be teaching each other in our weekly “Let’s Talk History!” class. Through guided curriculum, students present their learnings of different historical periods. Learners will hone their reading comprehension skills and public speaking abilities as well as create fun presentations and learn from each other in an encouraging setting! *Paired curriculum will be required.

From Painting to Portraits is a skill based art class to help your learner take their art to the next level. This class will focus on watercolor techniques, shading, perspective, cartooning styles, and more! With a wide range of styles, there will be something for every learner to connect with and get passionate about. We want our learners to build both the skills and the confidence to take risks in their art and create new things they are proud of!
Tuesdays @ 1:00pm (PST)

Learners have enjoyed learning the basics of economics, fundamentals of personal finance, influence of current events and investing and money management skills through a fun, (slightly) competitive game! Together, learners talk about current events, research companies, invest (fake money of course!) and follow their returns through this exciting 10-week course. They have even been known to take the conversation outside the classroom and share their newfound knowledge at the dinner table!

Ages: 9-12
Price: $150 ($15/class) *Included for complete program participants
Focus: We will focus on earning the Pinyin pronunciation system and beginner vocabulary for themes such as numbers, family, colors, and animals, in addition to learning about Chinese culture.
Goal: Whether this is their first Mandarin class or 30th Mandarin class, students will gain the ability to understand and speak basic Mandarin sentences and read/write simple Chinese characters. Learners will also acquire a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through song and movement.
